The annual festival in tribute to Eddie Lang, held in the city of Monteroduni (birthplace of Eddie Lang’s grandfather, father, and three sisters), celebrated its 20th year in 2010. The festival features a variety of music, and over the years has included a number of guitarists; Jim Hall, Greg Howe, Lino Patruno, Tommy Emmanuel, Bireli Lagrene, John Abercrombie, Stanley Jordan, Ralph Towner, John Scofield, and Bucky Pizzarelli, in addition to seminars, and a young guitarists competition.

Eddie Lang inducted into the ASCAP Jazz Wall of Fame

On Monday, June 14, 2010, Eddie Lang’s name was added to ASCAP’s Jazz Wall of Fame. The event was highlighted by the induction of five giants of Jazz: Living Legends Donald Fagen and Phil Woods; and posthumous honorees: Eddie Lang, Thelonious Monk and Dinah Washington.

Eddie Lang joins the ranks of fellow jazz artists including, among others; Louis Armstrong, William “Count” Basie, Bix Beiderbecke, Bunny Berigan, Charlie Christian, Nat “King” Cole, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Goodman, Stéphane Grappelli, Coleman Hawkins, Woody Herman, Billie Holiday, Gene Krupa, Peggy Lee, Charlie Parker, Joe Pass, Django Reinhardt, Buddy Rich, Art Tatum, and Joe Venuti.

Ed Massaro accepts the A.S.C.A.P. Jazz Wall of Fame award

Ed Massaro accepts the ASCAP Jazz Wall of Fame award on behalf of his uncle, Eddie Lang from ASCAP President Paul Williams.


The evening’s most poignant moment was the stunning solo acoustic guitar performance by Julian Lage. The Boston-based Lage, a twenty two year old guitarist recognized as a child prodigy, brought new life to Eddie Lang’s poignant composition, “April Kisses.”
